SEE COMPLETE PROFILE

Serena Porcher-Carli is a young photographer and director born in 1989. Her travels and her university education in geography and film anthropology have made her interested in documentary in all its forms: through sound, video, photography, text. She works to tell stories of humans surrounded by cultural and social issues. She develops projects with an intimate, subjective and local vision, far from the journalistic specular. For her, there is no single truth, so she prefers to provoke a reflection according to each sensitivity and each view rather than imposing a vision, to make people feel rather than to show them. The question of identity is at the heart of her reflection.
For her photographic film Enzo, she received, among other things, the special mention of the jury of the Villeurbanne festival and the film has been selected in more than 60 national and international festivals, including 7 in category 1 (Etats Généraux de Documentaire, Côté Court Pantin, Rencontres Audiovisuelles de Lille, International Short Film Festival of Oberhausen, Off-courts Trouville, Tempere Film festival). After "Enzo", she directed a second work on transidentity, "Mathéo", in parallel with a university research work. She is also interested in the wine industry and the rural world. Since 2019, she has been working on two personal feminist projects: rape and endometriosis. She is also developing two documentary film projects with two production companies: one on discrimination in animation and one on bullshit jobs. She is the winner of the SCAM 2020 "Brouillon d'un Rêve grant". She graduated from ENS Louis-Lumière in June 2017.
