SYNOPSIS

This film traces the memory of Touggourt a city once grown from its palm trees and shaped by them now slowly stripped of its soul. Through the shared gaze of a son, Oussama, and his father, Samir, the story unfolds as an intimate journey into loss and inheritance, revealing how the disappearance of the five great landowners altered the destiny of the city and silenced its legendary palm groves.

Oussama Ramdane is an Algerian filmmaker whose work is rooted in Mediterranean and Maghrebi narratives. A collaborator of the TiLEM Webdoc collective, he directed L'Homme du paradoxe de Touggourt, selected by the AFLAM festival in Marseille. His documentary Double Miloud was presented at the Cannes Film Market.
