Camilo's Trail

The director goes in search of fragments of memory of the man many call the "guerrilla priest". Through these discoveries and the testimonies of those who perpetuate his memory, we learn more about Camilo Torres, a pioneer of liberation theology in Latin America.

SYNOPSIS

Discovering the remains and memory of the priest Camilo Torres, pioneer of liberation theology in Latin America. In this film, Colombian-born director Diego Briceño discovers a ten-minute filmed interview in the archives of his native country in which the young Catholic priest Camilo Torres speaks in French, saying that his duty as a Christian calls him to make the revolution for "the love of his neighbor. Shortly after this interview, Torres was killed in his first battle with the ELN armed group, which he had joined in 1965. The director goes in search of fragments of memory of the one that many call the "guerrilla priest". Thanks to these discoveries and to the testimonies of those who perpetuate his memory, we learn more about Torres, and we better understand why the Colombian army has kept the location of his remains secret until now.
