The short film program is divided into three categories: Québec Programming, Canadian Programming, and International Programming. A jury composed of professionals and students will award over $30,000 in prizes across 6 awards.
Coup de Poing Award – Given in the Québec category to a film that stands out for the strength of its message.
Prize: $3,000 in services + 1‑year subscription from Vidéographe and $2,500 in services from SLA Location.
Cinematography Award – Given in the Québec category to a film with outstanding cinematographic, artistic, and sound qualities.
Prize: $2,000 in production services from Main Film and $1,600 in services from Bande à part.
Best Emerging Filmmaker Award – Given in the Québec category for a first-time director.
Prize: A $9,000 residency at Paraloeil, including $1,000 in artist fees, 10 days’ accommodation in a typical Bas-Saint-Laurent location, access to equipment and editing facilities, 5 hours of professional mentoring, 2 years of pro membership, a public screening, and full integration into Rimouski’s cultural life.
Best Canadian Short Documentary – Awarded in the Canadian category.
Prize: $500 from the Observatoire du documentaire, $500 from Les Films du 3 Mars, and a $250 pro membership from Doc Canada.
Best International Short Documentary – Awarded in the International category.
Prize: $250 in cash from Tënk.
Student Favourite Award – Awarded in the Québec category by a student jury.
Prize: $5,000 in services from PRIM and $2,500 in services from Royal Photo.
