Greenlandic Inuk lawyer Aaju Peter is a renowned campaigner for the rights of the Arctic's indigenous peoples. After the loss of her son, she embarks on a quest to recover her language and culture, amputated by colonialism. Her heritage places her in the unique position of being doubly colonized, first by Europeans, then by Canadian policies. She seeks to bring her oppressors to justice and to sensitize Westerners to question their colonial stance and assume personal responsibility, while creating a space for indigenous peoples within the European Union.
