SYNOPSIS

She stands there, confident, like a goddess of technological waste, surrounded by endless mountains of trash, plastic, stench, and rare earth metals. An angry call to the world to take responsibility for the consequences of capitalism, colonialism, and environmental destruction in Africa.

A writer and director of Swiss and Rwandan nationality, she explores the concepts of identity, sovereignty, and representation on screen. She shoots her films in East Africa and Switzerland. In 2023, she participated in the Atelier Grand Nord with TANZANITE, her feature film in development. TERRA MATER (2023) premiered at the Berlinale in 2023 and has since enjoyed a successful run at international film festivals, from IDFA to Sundance, in early 2024.
