SYNOPSIS

Immigrants from Sub-Saharan Africa choose to start their lives anew north of the 49th parallel. Here, across the vast territory of Eeyou Istchee Baie-James, each and every one must relearn how to live to the rhythm of a season previously unknown to them: winter.

Award-winning French Canadian filmmaker and photographer Hervé Demers has seen his work selected by over a hundred international festivals, including Clermont-Ferrand and Hot Docs. Retrospectives of his films have been presented in Morocco, Ukraine, and South Korea. He has also served as a jury member for numerous film festivals.
