Paul Tom
Paul Tom (Bagages, Un pays de silence) is a filmmaker specializing in animated and documentary films. He his also a professional editor, creator of museum exhibition videos and instructor for cultural mediation projects within various communities. Born in a Thai refugee camp of Cambodian parents, he his particularly interested in exploring themes related to the construction of self-identity, family relationships and the use of silence as a means of communication. His short films have been selected in over forty international festivals.

Every year, over 400 children arrive alone at the Canadian border to claim refugee status. Fearing for their lives, Afshin, Alain and Patricia left their country, without their parents, when they were just children, in the hope of a better life in Canada.
