Writer and director of documentaries, Mélanie Trugeon studied human and social sciences with a focus on cinema. Mélanie then joined the world of contemporary creation and participated in the conception and implementation of artistic projects before dedicating herself full time to her directing activities. Her projects deal with intimacy and identity. She gives a central place to binary and non-binary women. Kubra is her first short documentary film. She is currently on the development of her documentary film Mon corps, ce pays, with which she is selected to participate in the workshop "Conceiving a documentary project" at the Fémis in 2019, and for which she received the FIPADOC 2021 Best Pitch Award. In addition, Mélanie was nominated for the 2019 COAL Award for her graphic novel co-written with Claire Malary, Le désert d'Ata.
