Joëlle Abou Chabké is a Lebanese filmmaker holding a master's degree in cinema from the Academy of Fine Arts and a master's degree in documentary filmmaking from the University of Paris. Since 2008, she has worked as a director, cinematographer, and sound recordist on films such as Counting Tiles, We Are Inside, and You Don’t Die Two Times.

Among her independent short films are Pas de ports pour les petits bateaux (Silver Tanit at the Carthage Film Festival and best international short film at the Cinéma sous les étoiles Québec festival) and Aller-retour (2nd prize at the Regard Indépendant Nice festival). She recently directed the documentary series Victims and Heroes for Al-Jazeera 360 and completed her short film Snake Hill.
