A documentary combining poetry and traditional music, The Delightful One is a love letter to the Huron-Wendat Nation. From the young generation’s point of view, the film showcases a strong sense of cultural, spiritual and professional belonging to the nation.

Diego Gros-Louis, born in Sainte-Foy, is from the Wendat and Innu nations. After completing his primary education at Wahta’ school in Wendake, he got his first job as a tour guide and animator, which sparked a deeper interest in his culture and fostered a strong connection to his nation. This sense of belonging led him to become more involved in his community. He worked in various fields to promote his culture and represent his nation to the best of his ability. The filmmaker, passionate about his history and roots, enjoys telling the stories of his culture, nation, and the myths and legends that shaped them. At the end of his secondary school years, as part of his French course, he wrote a love letter to his nation. It is this very letter that he uses in his first project with Wapikoni Mobile for his film, which bears the same name, The Delightful One.
