Ninan Auassat : Nous, les enfants

Ninan Auassat: We, the Children is a heartfelt cry in a time when Indigenous youth are claiming their place and their future.

SYNOPSIS

Ninan Auassat: Nous, les enfants is a documentary filmed over more than six years, following three groups of children from different nations (Atikamekw, Eeyou-Cree, and Innu). By accompanying these young people through key stages on their journey to adulthood, we witness their daily lives, aspirations, and the challenges they face. Filmed from the children’s perspective and presenting an innovative portrayal of Indigenous youth, this powerful documentary deliberately excludes the voices of adults and “youth experts,” giving the floor entirely to the new generation and their strong desire to be heard. This captivating journey becomes a call to action at a time when young people’s voices echo louder than ever, demanding recognition and the right to thrive.
