Laura Kamugisha, a graduate in Film Production from Concordia University, is a Rwandan-born screenwriter, director, and producer based in Montreal. Her films explore themes of cultural identity, memory, and intergenerational baggage through visual poetry. She has directed several short films, including Les Lavandières (TIFF Next Wave, VIFF, FNC, Brooklyn Film Festival 2023), Trait d’Union (RIDM 2020), and Mitochondrial (FNC 2020). The director describes her projects — and herself — as sensitive, stubborn, and intuitive.
