Emerging filmmakers professional event

We are offering an activity aimed at promoting the new generation of filmmakers and documentary producers, including both racialized individuals and visible minorities, as well as those who do not belong to these minorities. The idea is to create a debate to discuss the most important issues concerning emerging talents in Greater Montreal, followed by a networking session in a festive atmosphere.

Discussion topic

Documentary Cinema and Social Change :

Examining the role of documentary cinema as a tool for social change and activism, and how emerging filmmakers can use their films to advocate for important causes. While the main theme focuses on social change through documentary film, the discussion can also be directed to address other relevant issues such as the voice of youth exploring how emerging filmmakers can capture the unique perspectives and concerns of young people in their documentaries, and how these stories can resonate with wider audiences.

After the debate, we will organize a networking session where participants can exchange and share ideas with their peers and industry experts.
