Award Winner’s evening of the short film competition

Join us at Parc des Compagnons to discover the award winners of our 2026 short documentary competition!

The short film program is divided into three categories: Quebec ProgrammingCanadian Programming, and International Programming. A jury composed of professionals and students will award over $25,000 in prizes in six different categories

Impact Award – given in the Quebec Programming category to the film that stands out for its strength of expression.
Prize of $1,000 in services + a one-year subscription provided by Vidéographe and $2,000 in services provided by SLA Location.

Cinematography Award – nominated in the Quebec Programming category for a film that stands out for its cinematographic qualities, artistic direction, and sound qualities. 
$2,000 in production services awarded by Main Film and $1,700 in services provided by Bande à part.

Best Emerging Filmmaker Award – Submitted in the Quebec Programming category, the award will be given to a first-time production. Prize worth $10,000 at Paraloeil. (Production and studio equipment rental services, including one year of professional membership in Paraloeilas well as personalized mentoring to support project submission in production).

Best Canadian Short Film Award – submitted in the Canadian Programming category.
$500 cash prize awarded by Les Films du 3 Mars, and a pro subscription worth $225 provided by Doc Canada.

Best International Short Film – Submitted in the International Programming category.
$300 cash prize, awarded by Tënk.

A sixth prize, the Student Favorite Award, presented in the Quebec Programming category, will be awarded by a jury composed of students.
$5,000 in services awarded by PRIM. $2,500 in services awarded by Royal Photo.

The trophies are made by the Forges de Montréal.
