SYNOPSIS

Prague, 2022 – Having found refuge from the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, two women and their young daughters face the waiting and hope of an imminent return to Ukraine. Shelved in this city, these women tell the story of their past and give access to their daily life, their present, in which they try to learn how to live again.

Juliette Balthazard completed her studies at UQÀM, with a bachelor’s degree in cinema (2019 – 2022). Her versatility allowed her to take on several types of creative positions. Her last direction of photography, Yvon / L’Éternel, ended up at the 2022 edition of RIDM festival.
Now, she’s more into directing. Her short fiction film Caterpillars House begin his journey in festivals, as it’s been selected at Prends Ça Court 2023 and Festival de cinéma de la ville de Québec 2023. She also has a documentary and fiction projects in development. Her next documentary received the grant of the Canada Council for the Arts for the development of the project.
