Born in 1974. Jean-Gabriel Périot's short films are on the border of documentary, experimental and fiction. With a personal approach to editing, he uses archives to question violence and history. They have been awarded at numerous festivals around the world. A German Youth opened the Panorama section at the 2015 Berlinale. "Summer Lights" premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival. Our Defeats, his latest feature documentary, was shown at the 2019 Berlinale (Forum).
