Ovan Gruvan (Above the mine)

Kiruna, north of Sweden; after a series of strange events, the town is set in motion. 

SYNOPSIS

In Sweden, the Kiruna iron ore mine, one of the largest in the world, is eating away at the city’s underground. Some of the centre’s large houses are at risk from landslides and must be relocated in their entirety, in a slow and majestic ballet captured by the camera of Théo Audoire and Lova Karlsson, architects of a constantly moving urban landscape.

Lova Karlsson

A graduate of Sint Lukas School of fine Arts in 2019, Lova Karlsson is an artist and psychoanalyst. She develops a work between writing, directing and music. She was published by Sabir magazine and showed her video work in several exhibitions in Belgium. Ovan Gruvan is his first film produced, co-directed with Théo Audoire.

Théo Audoire graduated from Paris School of Fine Arts in 2020. In 2020 he receives the Thaddaeus Ropac des amis des Beaux-Arts award and is selected by the cultural ministry for the program Nouveaux Mondes, for his upcoming film Who killed the Aérotrain?. Ovan Gruvan is his first produced film, directed together with Lova Karlsson.
