Investigation on the transformation of language resulting from COVID-19. The social interrelationships that are completely disrupted today, give way to a reinterpretation of certain terms that suddenly carry a mortifying value. The film is a funeral mass in honor of the word "contact".

A graduate of INIS and UQAM's media school, Olivier D. Asselin's artistic approach is rooted in socio-political reality and is embodied in fiction as well as in documentary and experimental films. Produced with the help of the NFB, his feature documentary Pipelines, Power and Democracy was launched at RIDM 2015 and presented in multiple festivals afterwards. In 2019, his feature film Foundations won several awards including "Best Feature Documentary" at the Fine Arts Film Festival in Venice, California. In fiction, his latest short film L'assaillant, produced at the Coop vidéo de Montréal, was launched at the 2018 Fantasia festival, then selected in several festivals in Quebec and abroad. In 2020, he has just directed with the NFB "Contact" Requiem pour un mot, a short film about the current pandemic.
