2022 Edition – Short Films Competition

For the past 8 years, Le Cinéma sous les étoiles by Funambules Médias has been organizing a competition for documentary short films to celebrate the quality of works created here and elsewhere. After receiving nearly 200 short films, our programming team selected 26 films. In addition to seeking a strong author's perspective, we paid particular attention to the aesthetic quality and cinematography of the submitted documentaries, aiming for a balance between art and social engagement.

SIX AWARDS FOR THE SHORT FILM PROGRAM

The short film programming is divided into 3 categories: Quebec, Canadian, and International. Our independent jury, composed of Amy Miller, Phillippe Néméh-Nombreh, and Ambre Fourrier, awarded five distinctions to the most outstanding works. A student jury composed of students from INIS, EMCV, and Labdoc (UQAM), namely Chantal Grenier, Chloé Gayraud, and Iulia Alexandra Nastase, awarded their favorite among the films in the Quebec Programming.

On August 3rd, during our evening of award-winning short films, we revealed the winners of our competition and presented the various prizes to the filmmakers.
