THE BALANCE BETWEEN ART AND SOCIAL COMMITMENT
The Cinéma sous les étoiles by Funambules Médias is an outdoor cinema event whose mission is to promote documentary cinema dealing with current environmental, social and political issues, as well as the development of critical thinking through lively discussions around the works and the issues addressed. More than just screenings, our platform is intended to be a space for discovery, reflection and discussion on the issues of the day affecting our society.
Following our previous editions, we are looking for documentary works of a resolutely social, political and environmental nature, which address the major themes of the festival, namely : environment, democracy, colonialism, society and economy. We will favor films that are critical of national and international political issues, and focused on social justice and inclusion. In addition to seeking a strong author's point of view, we will pay particular attention to the aesthetic quality of the documentaries submitted, with a concern for a balance between art and social engagement.
Our programming committee will select 25 to 30 works that will be presented during the 2023 season of Cinéma sous les étoiles.
* Broadcasting rights for selected films will be paid.
